Teen Idols

I was a huge fan and then I heard Hendrix, Deep Purple, Yes, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Grand Funk Railroad... you get the picture.

For me I guess the Beatles kicked it all off when I was about 5.

Some of the biggest teen idols when I was growing up were:

David Cassidy   www.davidcassidy.com

Donny Osmond   www.donny.com

Donny at Mall of America Bloomington, Minnesota. Doing his 10.000 Pyramid show.

Bobby Sherman   www.bobbysherman.com

The Monkees

Visit the best (in my opinion) Monkees site here: monkees.net

I loved their hit TV show and watched it religiously after school.

My Favorite was Mickey as he was a drummer and sang most of their hits.

The Monkees Live

Paramount Theatre Denver, Colorado 7/5/11

Note: Unfortunately Michael Nesmith did not participate

As usual I show up early (3:30 pm) to avoid Denver traffic and head to the Paramount to take pix and catch Davy before he heads in ...which I did!

Paramount typo on the marquee...6/20 is actually 7/5

The band & crew arrive

Hanging by the Prevost's hoping to meet Davy... no go so I head the Paramount

Backstage...sort of. The crew loads in.

My patience pays off! With Davy before the show

Davy receives a Kimono from two fans...which Davy nicely thanked during the show!

The Show

The show started right on time and was a real nostalgia trip for me and a pretty much sold out Denver crowd.

Davy, Mickey & Peter were in great spirits and put on a vey exciting show with a vey good encore.

Here we come, walking down the street....

Mickey

Davey

Peter

Pretty much a sold out show!!

That's a wrap

They did do a short encore.

The Meet & Greet

The M & G was after the show. The guys seemed a little tired but did sign and take pictures with everyone that wanted one. There where about 150 people give or take. So as you can imagine the staff moved it along pretty fast. It still was worth the money, only $116.00.

Some pics

Mickey was the first one out and was great to talk to. He was extremely friendly and actually walked through the line himself. Sweet!

Peter was the second on out

Davy was the last one out and the line moved towards him, unlike Mickey and Peter who moved through the long line.

Mickey, Peter and Davy were nice enough to sign my CD cover
