James Marshall Hendrix Guitarist/Vocalist
WOW!!Wow!!
How did he play so under the influence?? Or even write and function for that matter.
Which makes him beyond comprehension!
The best ever? You decide......

Experience Hendrix '08 tour 10/25/08 Paramount Theatre Denver, Colorado

I attended the show and was ready to witness the somewhat all star cast. Unfortunately I had to exit the show after the Brad Whitford/Johnny Lang set.
My main reason for attending this show was to see one of my favorites players from my youth...Jimi's main drummer Mitch Mitchell.
Eric Gales opened up the show with Billy Cox on Bass and Chris Layton (Drummer) of Stevie Ray Vaughan fame. The sound was fair in this intimate room of 1900+. The great Eric Johnson took the stage next and was surely the best artist here. Although I did not get to see the whole show. Next was Aerosmith's Brad Whitford and Johnny Lang, who played a nice short set.
It was also weird to see this Gibson sponsored event, while Jimi exclusively played Fenders.
A few Mitch Mitchell notes:
I did meet him briefly and told him how much I admired his playing. He did not sign any autographs or take any pictures.
I was stunned to see how Mitch's playing had pretty much tanked. He tapped on his DW kit and was clearly usurped by Chris's Fibes kit. It was obvious that Chris was the main drummer though out the evening.
I doubt that Mitch's mic'd kit was even on!
I was very disappointed to see that one of my favorite player's could end up this bad.
Here are some photos from my trip to Denver for the show.
