I started climbing in my late 30's which is a good thing because I have avoided chronic orthopedic injuries. My first trip was to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I took an entry level rock climbing course and was hooked immediately. I signed up for an advanced course and multi-pitch climb the next day. I was guided up Guide's Route in Paintbrush Canyon in August of 1994. I returned to South Florida and gathered information on the South East U.S. climbing scene which obviously excluded Florida, which is a very bad place to live if you like to climb. Taking various climbing trips to Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama, with my wife Rachel, further fueled my passion for climbing. In August of 1996 we took a two week vacation to Colorado Springs, Colorado climbing the easier climbs in The Garden of The Gods state park. I hired three different climbing guides ( there's no substitute for experience) to show me the South Platte and the front range climbing areas. Once again I was hooked. Once we returned to Florida we packed our bags and moved to Colorado Springs in June of 1997.
Listed are my current, past & present attempts, summits and climbs.

Ice Climbs
The Great Outdoors:
* Assume nothing.
* Preparation, training, sound judgment, common sense, and a little luck, will get you home.
* Guide books mean nothing on the route.
* The finish line is at the bottom, not the top.
* Out there, you are responsible for you own safety.
* Double check everything!!
